Dustin Tavella And Danny Trejo Deliver Un Mensaje Muy Especial In Music Video.

Danny Trejo, Selena Gomez, and dUSTIN tAVELLA.

I have seen so many bad images, and stereotypes of Latinos, and Latinas in the mainstream media lately that when I learned about Dustin Tavella’s “Everybody Knows (Douchebag)” music video, featuring “Machete” Danny Trejo, it was very refreshing. The whole uproar after the debut of the TV show "Devious Maids," should give you an idea of what I'm talking about. You can read a review of it here.

One of the things that have many Latino moms, and dads, constantly worried, is the silly boys out there, trying to take advantage of our daughters. And that's why, when my friends and I saw Mr. Danny Trejo cantando Dustin’s song to Marielle Jaffe (Scream 4, Secret Life of an American Teenager), letting her know, lo que ya todos saben, that her boyfriend is not treating her right, we fell in love with it.

As soon as I saw Danny singing with Dustin’s voice, I started laughing very hard, but as I kept listening to the lyrics of the song, it also made me think: "This is what every young woman should listen to!"

I think we Latinos tend to be a bit conservative when it comes to raising our kids. We encourage them to have their own opinions, but we dislike very much when they talk back to any adult. We teach them to respect their elders; we want them to have a great education, good role models, moral values, and everything that is needed in this world to succeed. That’s why, en mi opinion, this video will be well accepted in the Latino community.

Oh yes, one more thing, the video includes an amazing grupo de artistas Latinos, and if you look closely, you will see that Selena Gomez does a cameo close to minute 4:28

Now, enjoy the video!
